Maintenance Assistant

Maintain system buildings, equipment and grounds.
Accommodate department needs and acceptance of appropriate authority.
Adhere to department Policy and Procedures Manuals.
Assist in carpentry activities as they related to repairs, renovation or constructions.
Demonstrate cost consciousness through efficient use of time, materials, staff, equipment, supplies and available resources.
Demonstrate dependability, reliability and independent judgement recognizing priorities.
Establish and maintain good rapport and cooperative relationship with medical staff, co-workers, supervisors and others.
Exhibit integrity, courtesy, and respect for others.
Maintain confidentiality of hospital and department information with no infractions.
Maintain outdoor equipment in good working condition.
Maintain professional, pleasant and effective communications both internally and externally.
Maintain, repair and install all types of miscellaneous equipment (such as wheelchairs and carts).
Operate cars, light trucks and maintenance equipment.
Paint and install/repair vinyl wall covering.
Perform ground maintenance including lawn care and snow/ice removal during the winter season.
Perform preventive maintenance on all outdoor equipment including hospital motor vehicles.
Perform security function when required.
Present self in a positive manner reflected by personal attire and etiquette.
Promote the hospital's image and maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward employees, physicians, visitors, and the community to enhance the hospital's reputation as a health care center.
Repair wall surfaces prior to application of finishes.
Transport System equipment and materials.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational/technical training in one or more skilled trades preferred.
Maintenance experience preferred.
May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
